Don't Ever Say "What else can go wrong?"

I know I should be used to it by now because honestly..I think me and my husband combined have the worst luck in the world :)

For example - this was the latest day for us... We finally decide to make an appointment to get my 4 month old's pics taken professionally. We make the appointment when he is always awake every day - around 330 and put him down for his nap at a regular time. Well, he decides to not take his normal afternoon nap and sleep only half an hour. That started off the day...

So we have to take a very tired baby to get his pics taken. Plus, he has a little cold and is teething. That combined caused some very dry skin on his face from drooling and crying. SO i have a tired baby who has big red dry marks on his face.

We get there to the photo place on time and find out that there is only one girl working and they are 15 min behind...well we wait 15 min, then 30 min then 1 hour. While we are waiting, I am holding my son and trying to keep him happy. Well, he suddenly burps and literally spits up all over my clothes (literally covering my entire front) and covering his cute outfit he is wearing for the pictures! UGHH!!!

Well, we get that cleaned up finally and check back to see if they are ready for us yet. (this is about an hour after our appointment time). The lady tells us just a couple more minutes so we sit down to wait. Suddenly, my son's face turns bright red and he starts grunting! He decides to poop a huge load right as the woman says she is ready. We then have to tell HER to wait a sec and we go searching around the mall literally running with him as my husband is holding him very gingerly asking everyone desperately where the closest bathroom is. I actually did laugh then because it was such a funny scene :)

It was around this time that I said the dreaded words "what else can go wrong today?" Little did I know...

We finally found a bathroom, changed him, and got him back to the portrait studio...and she still wasn't ready! However, we soon got in. He did great and looked so cute! That was the best part of the day!

However, the day wasn't over....We head out to the car to go run some other errands quickly before the baby gets too tired and crabby. We get all piled into the car and start the car....nothing....no turn over, nothing! GReattttttt..............

We are now stranded at the place we have already spent 2 hours at...Well luckily we have AAA so we had to call a tow truck...back into the store to wait with the baby because we didn't all fit into the tow truck. Off I went to find some kind of rocking chair..I finally settled for a patio chair that rocks a little and hope my son will sleep a little. An hour later my husband comes back to pick us up.

Well there was even more that happened that day...but to make a long story short...we didn't end up getting home until 7 o clock that night...My poor baby was so tired and hadn't had a decent nap all day!

However, my husband and I have learned that when these days occur, we just look at each other and say,    "That is just our luck. We know that" and we look at the positives of the day and laugh! We are so used to it by now.

So to look at the positives....We got some great, cute pictures taken of our handsome little boy..finally! Our son behaved so great even though he was so tired and hungry all day! We didn't get mad or frustrated to each other but managed to stay positive the whole time. And we even found a great clearanced grill to buy!

That night I never have loved my bed so much...o wait...i am a new mom...i love my bed so much every night!!! :) Now if I could only get a full night of sleep.................

It is funny! I have learned to just laugh! After all, it is all you can do, right? :)

That is a pretty bad day! Good that you can laugh at it though. The pictures you took will remind you of how life can be sometimes: bitter and sweet at the same time. My son's first photo shoot went so badly that my husband ended up having to hold him. My son is nine now, and that bald baby photo with his bald daddy holding him is really one of my favorites!

Good for you, keep looking at the bright side! And you're right. When days like that hit, and they hit all of us at one time or another, all you can do is laugh. Hope you have a great night's sleep and tomorrow is the best!
